Table Lamp

In Islam, sunlight is a direct symbol of divinity, a powerful metaphor of sacred and divine presence. When sunlight falls upon architectural jalis (Indo-Islamic lattice screens), the interplay between light and shadow becomes ornamental.

In this context, light is a functional and symbolic source of identity, memory and meaning. Ultimately, identity is cursive. It loops and intersects to form a complex, unified whole.

The lamp embodies the sense of non-linear identity by fragmentation of coil form and glaze application. Architectural in its form, the lamp is designed as an abstract jali to house the source of light.
